Peru Mission (2025)

We're back! KIFF's 2025 mission in Peru marks our second time working with El Chino Village and the incredible students within it. We were absolutely thrilled to return and see so many familiar faces! During the wet season, the Amazon River water levels 7-9 meters (23-30 feet), covering the entire village besides the school and soccer field, so dozens of villagers helped us carry equipment to classrooms.

With the help of brand-new jersey donations from Juventus Soccer Academy and AYSO, plus additional gently-used donations along the way, KIFF was able to donate nearly 200 jersey + shorts sets to the children of El Chino and Esperanza Village.

In collaboration with our nonprofit partner, Angels of the Amazon, KIFF contributed materials to annual school supply packs for local children in seven villages and aided in the distribution as well.

Thanks to our wonderful donors, KIFF was able to establish the first-ever computer lab and library space in El Chino. Many people from these communities strive to eventually work in the city of Iquitos (100 nautical miles from the village), so the exposure to technology and access to the internet will allow them to receive sponsorships and pursue their ambitions, impacting them, their families, and their village for years to come! An IT expert flew in from Lima, Peru, to help us install computers and a printer, and the science teacher underwent a training to effectively implement computers into the curriculum for students in 14 communities that attend the school. We also donated 50 new textbooks selected by teachers in El Chino.

Looking good, everyone!

In addition to computers, a printer, textbooks, clothing, school supplies, and soccer balls, KIFF also supplied backpacks to students for the upcoming school year. We brought waterproof labels that each student could decorate and customize with their names.

KIFF has lots of love for El Chino and Esperanza Village; the connections we've made and the gratitude we've received means so much to us, and we cannot wait for our future visits!
